I am back...for now

It has been exactly a year since my last post. The girls had just finished their exams and am praying hard that they will remain in their top 2 classes. Scolded Joy yesterday for making so many silly mistakes in her maths paper and she cried silently, now I feel bad about it.

This coming Saturday is again their birthday party. I told them each is only allowed 4 friends, I don't like a crowded party at home where I will be out of control, I wouldn't mind lots of them if it's done in MC D or anywhere outside.

Anxiously waiting

Yeah she is waiting to be 7.... She has been talking about it for months...about a party, whom to invite, insisted that the party should be at home and even beg me to have a sleep over.

She is turning 7th this Sunday... I need to get her a present quick... unlike her sister, she is not into real reading yet, she's very artistic... so perhaps I will get her an art set. Hubby has ordered a guitar for her, for once he is ahead of me. I will rush to 1U now to browse, yup it's my lunch time.

History??

The numbers we all use (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.) are known as "Arabic" numbers to distinguish them from the "Roman Numerals" (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, etc). Actually the Arabs popularized these numbers but they were originally used by the early Phoenician traders to count and keep track of their trading accounts. Have you ever thought why........? 1 means "one", and 2 mean "two"? It's all about angles! It's the number of angles. If one writes the numbers down on a piece of paper in their older forms, one can quickly see why. The angles are marked with "o"s. No 1 has one angle No 2 has two angles No 3 has three anglesetc. and "O" has no angles

Thinking aloud

After Tennis last sunday, Kristen said she wants durian, after 2 attempt of finding our regular stalls failed,we found a crowded durian station at USJ 18, plenty of durians but all were booked as there were plenty of customers sitting and waiting for their durian to be served. Only grade left was the XO, rm12/kg. We bought 1 durian for rm20 and it was haven. Almost hook, last night we visited the place again, bought 2 fruits and I have them chilled...my mind is surfing the fridge now.
I am going to take the girls for movie later, heard Ice Age 3 is pretty good, so gonna take half day leave, pick them up from school, take them to a good lunch... eem thinking of the yummy nachos in Chilli's but the distance is not on our side, maybe we will do Japanese again or maybe Nandos.
The 3pm show should be perfect.

The Hero

My 2nd daughter champion her dad in every situation, wonder whether she does the same thing when she is with dad, I mean defending me if dad said something about me, but come to think of it... dad actually never would discuss things like this with them.

Over mistake that dad repeatedly does:

Me: Eh your daddy never learn his lesson
Joy: Don't said that mum, dad went to school ok, he learnt his lesson well, he even showed me his
school when we were in PD.

When dad came back from the barber and his head is almost botak

Me: Your dad fall asleep or the barber fall asleep in the saloon?
Joy: I like, he looks nice and when I touched his head the feeling is nice too.

When I am too angry to talk to dad

Me: Why must he make me mad?
Joy: Forgive him ok mum, Jesus said must forgive each other ma.

When we are at supermarket (both 1st and 2nd daughter)

Me: Let's go and pay these goodies
Girls: Mum you pay aah, I saw just now dad has only $20 left in his wallet.

In the restaurant while ordering food

Me: Ok I am going to order the sashimi set
Girls: Mum do you notice how expensive it is, kesian daddy got to pay so much.

Meeting and Japanese

While hubby was busy in a meeting yesterday, I took the girls out for a Japanese dinner...eh what was the restaurant's name again... something Ki... We were at this new shopping complex called Tropicana City in Damansara and there were lots of nice looking restaurants but Kristen pointed to Japanese so Japanese we did. She ordered sushi set, Meescha ordered Soba soup and me, Fish Tempura. Meescha said her soba was yummy, Kristen said "that was a good dinner mum", she really managed to eat them all, oh she only passed me the soft shelled crab. Later in the car I told her that her dinner consists of octopus, eel and raw salmon... her replied was "eeyuuuuk, why didn't you tell me mum?" But, they were yummy right?" I asked. She nodded her head.
What did hubby grab for dinner? aah rice in his office..... And so the three ladies went to bed with smile on their faces......

Feel the adrenaline

This took place on Saturday between 10.30am to 12.30pm.

In the car driving Kristen home after her music class:

Me: "Jie Jie xxx has invited us for a swim at her condo"

Kristen: "Oh"

...The end of that topic, I presume that she was not interested and we talk about other things, the new road, neighbour's dog, until we reached home.

Me: "You go in first, I need to get some groceries from the Fresh Mart, remember we are making Kuih Seri Muka today"

Kristen: "Yeah! Happily walked in to join dad and Meescha at home"

I came back after half an hour and Kristen came running out...

Kristen: "Mummy, Meescha agree to go"

Me: "Oh! to where"

Kristen: "Swimming remember"

Me : "I said we were invited but I didn't agree to go today"

The end of conversation. They went upstairs to join dad and I went to the kitchen to prepare lunch. While waiting for the food to cook I move to the living room to watch TV. Then the 2 girls appeared again in their swimming suit.

Kristen: "Let's go mum, we are ready"

Me: "Huh, did I agree to go? I am planning to make the kuih and you know at 4pm I have a meeting"

Meescha: "We know about your meeting mum, that's why if we go now, we will be back on time for your meeting"

Me: "........................................................."

Kristen: "OK mum?"

Me: "NO, GO AND CHANGE NOW"

Kristen: "AaaaaAaaaaAaaagh"

Wah not only they put words into our mouth, they even tried to put vision into our sight. By the way, the Kuih Seri Muka was marvelous.

The other side of the world

Miles and miles of muddy beach, jelly fish, mangrove..... yes, we were in Morib 2 weeks ago. It was quite an adventure, Kristen dived into the brownish water without second thought... Meescha hesitate for a second but later screamed with delight. I tried to walk to where they were but the slimy feeling that reached my foot when I step into the water put me off, yulks. My husband??? doesn't even bother to dirty his slippers. But the sunset was just amazing. Oh, we collected plenty of nice seashells. These were taken using my handphone.

First exam and proud mama

Spoke to Kristen on the phone just now and excitedly she told me she scores 89% for her Bahasa Melayu and 98% for her Science... so proud of her. I thought the only full sentence that she could speak in Bahasa was "Saya nak ponteng sekolah hari ini". I was so wrong.

The exam was 2 weeks ago and I told her "pray for guidance before you start, if you are not sure of the answer ask God to help you" and keep on reminding her that God is always with her just like in Psalm 23. She obeyed and I thank God for the result. I really wanted her to get good marks as to prevent her from attending extra classes schedule for year 1 students who need aids.

Before she put down the phone she asked me this "Mom, those results are good enough for me to get my bicycle?" I was tempted to say yes instead I said "You still have 3 more papers"
...she had been longing for a bigger bike and I told her she needs to work for it and the deal was that she needs to score all A's. By the way, these are pictures from her Birthday Party at Mc Donald's, Sunday School and home not too long ago, too busy to upload them then. Notice, unlike her sister, she's not sexist, she invited boys to her party.

Kristen turns 7 three months ago and Meescha turns 9 five days ago, my little princesses moving higher into life, watching them grow.. always reminded me of my childhood days. The many many hugs with the girls and to not a single hug from my parents but I know they tried their best. I am so going to do my very best too and I've got an advantage, I have got God with me.. what more can I ask?

Big day in big school

New uniform, new shoes, new bag, new everything and uuh she was so excited. Her first day in primary one. "I got to go to this big school with my Meescha". She woke up early, get dressed and all ready. We are as excited as her. Look how smart she looks.

A morning to feel good about

Ok I am going to take couple of minutes blogging about this morning before I start my work. I overslept just now and Meescha was the one who woke me up. She went downstairs and asked me how to prepare her cereal breakfast. Taught her and she did it and she cleans up after that. Then she helps me to fill the drinking water bottles for Kristen and her to take to daycare. Later I saw her taking out the bags and start preparing things that she needs to bring, she went to the shelves and took her bible, she said the teacher asked her to bring. She did all these while I was ironing my clothes. Then I heard she said "Mum I am going upstairs to wake Kristen up" . Eeeem what a bliss morning.

We were at Sunway Pyramid Hotel for a hightea, all because Kristen won 1st prize in father and daughter event at her school's sports day.. since hubby has been busy with college mum decided it should be a ladies affair. After hightea we adjourned to the shopping complex next door and shop until 10pm.... It was great, thanks Kristen and thanks for yesterday's treat too.
